|<u>System</u>: By dropping all defenses the mage is able, on a successful check of Resilience+[[Arcana]]+Absorb Mana vs a tn of the Matk/2 of the spell cast, to absorb the mp cost of the damaging spell that was cast at them. They may not avoid or counter the damage, but they do still gain their natural soak during the damage resolution.
