|Black Mages hurt people, White Mages put them back together, but Green Mages slip between those two opposites by having learned out to create an armor of magical energy around themselves.  With a Shell in place, incoming offensive spells are diffused somewhat, cushioning the recipient from taking the full brunt of the assault.  As with most Green Magics, it does not seem as directly effective as it's sister disciplines until seen in action.
