Alchemists by their very nature always have things in their pockets.  Reagents, trinkets, the occasional snack, and often times one or two nasty surprises for a pickpocket.  More than one left attempt has been stopped by a snap-crackler tied to a leather strap on one's purse going off after being yanked free of it's safe housing.  Keeping this in mind, if you ever try and steal from an Alchemist, you'll never know what they'll throw in your face to stop you, but you do know it's probably going to hurt.
