Scarmiglion

One of the great fiends whose being exists as a counterpoint to all that is good. An undead being that represents the element of Earth. He once dwelt as a master under Lord Titan, he was guardian of the lower vaults where the secrets and dangers of the earth are said to hide within the Hammerynthe itself. But when Ultima raised her standard against the heavens he was one of those who choose to join her. Stealing secrets long sealed within the earth he made his way to earth and the secrets he brought with him changed the world forever. Scarmiglione brought with him the power of necromancy and the long forbidden black magic that is needed to raise the dead and he gave it to man and offered it to those who would listen.

During the war the undead fought on Ultimas side and Scarmiglione forever twisted himself by using his dark arts upon himself. Many have mistaken this twisted fiend as a lych but the truth is much worse, he is a being of pure negative darkness, a condensed formation of what it means to be undead, spirit, flesh and the power of the earth bound together to form his shape. He was cast down at last by a gentle human, Larina the healer of the small village of Tasallene, kind, caring and imbued with the light of life she cast the master of Undeath down and with the aid of Undine sealed them within the Opal Nethicite. It is said however that if Scarmiglione ever walks the earth all the dead will rise once more in waves to cast down life and rule the world as a twisted mockery where the Undead are praised and life itself is hunted down and ended to this end the Opal Nethicite resides somewhere in the Bright Waters, where the life giving nature of the realm can help bolster the Opal Nethicite.
