Tristania looks dangerously like she means to use her knobkerrie in a more... direct fashion, for a long moment, before she slips it back into her belt and takes a seat at the table. "It does not know its plants," she declares, clearly quite offended. "Anyone with any eye at all could see I am related to the willow. Asparagus indeed. What a rude creature. Find out what it knows quickly so we may be finished talking with it."
Big fan? This time the moogle hears the words, and it changes the moogles attitude dramatically. "Well why didn't you say kupo earlier? Being kidnapped by fans, I should have known. My greatness is that kupo!" Reaching into his bag relaxing visible with the change in topic, "Oh that artifact? Let me see, the Hungering Mask? There is a kupo story behind that! We can talk kupo after, I have a fan to attend to, much more important than some world ending artifact, kupo agree?" The moogle peering over to Tristania, "A willow? Huh, you may be related to Rydia, she is the dryad who told me where to find the library." Edward then pulls out a lute and grins up to the spider, "What song did you want to hear? The Less Then Moderately Attractive Human? The Clipped Aegyl" Cecil blinks and frowns as he reaches for his gun, the man broken from his thinking and watching. Edward continues on not noticing, "or perhaps my most popular song, the Lazy Viera?"
Talen blinks at the Moogle's sudden change of topic, and direction, and attitude. He looks at Cecil with a shrug, and then back to Edward. "How about where to find Rydia, hmm? Do you have a song about that? And uh, you might not have time to tend to your fan, if Archades catches up to our ship."
Zhgir waves his hands towards Talen and Tristania. "Yes yes, very important, willows eat many-a poor soul and Atomos explodes many-a time before people learn." He rubs his chin while pondering this, palp twitching. "How about the Lazy Viera? Zhgir knows that one well, he can drum along! Zhgir is not only very good at finding bards, he is also a very good drummer." He nods his head.
Tristania raises an eyebrow behind her mask. "Rydia. My mother had a sister with such a name, but I have not seen her since I was very young." She crosses her arms, and leans back in the sit where she is sitting. "Did she wear a mask carved in the likeness of a rabbit, charcoal-blackened one one side and scraped as white as the moon on the other?"
Edward reaches to pull up a sleeve, showing a lapis lazuli stone bracelet, "Oh you will not find Rydia without this. She bonded it to my life force she kupoed." The moogle grumbling at that, "Said it was my fate kupo." The moogle cheering back up after that, "Mask? Nope she didn't have a mask, was pretty beat up when I found her. Huh kupo." The moogle tapping his chin, "She did mention losing her mask." The moogle starting to strum his lute, completely out of tune and haphazard notes. "The bracelet let me find the library to!" The moogle chuckling as he grins over to Talen, "Ha! If they catch us we are dead anyways, so what better time for a song, then to take our minds off of the chase!" Then he turns towards Zhgir, "The Lazy Viera it is! I have never seen or met a viera, though I hear they breath Mist out of their ears and snort fire in their rage. Scary beings I tell you kupo! Oh kupo." Glancing to Talen, "I have found rabbite kin tend to take offense to this song, you may want to leave!"
Talen slams his hands down upon the table. "I /am/ a Viera. Not a rabite. My /mate/ there is Viera as well. And Viera are not lazy." His eyes narrow and a hand of his edges a little closer to the knife sheathed at his side. "Could ye at least set us on the path to Rydia before getting into your song? We could better enjoy it then, knowing we were making good time, yes?"
Zhgir leans closer towards Edward, "Don't worry of him, he gets confused sometimes. It is the ch'taghn, you must understand. He is a brave trooper, but you know..." He finishes his sentence with a vague roll of his hand. Tilting his head from side to side, he then proceeds to drum his hands against his thighs and chest, humming a completely different song and pattern to the kupo's one. He occasionally hyuks.
Tristania coughs suddenly, as it she had something stuck in her throat. "Without her /mask/?" She sits up straight, and crosses her arms across her chest. "I certainly hope you were not so rude as to look at her face. That is *Taboo*." The dryad leans a little bit closer, and the tip of her own mask's beak edges close up to the moogle. "And if someone who might be a relative has been in danger, I must hear of this. You can sing afterwards."
Edward kupos and backs away from Talen, "You are a viera?" The moogle staring blankly at Talen and nods slowly, "Oh my, I was told people like you were rabbit-kin. Me and my brother are going to have a long kupo." Edward glancing up to Zhgir and smiles weakly, "No no I believe him kupo." Then edges back from Tristania, "It was hard not to look at her face! She grabbed me and pulled me right up to it as she started at me when we first met! Rather pretty though." His strumming of his lute, suddenly turns very skilled and pretty as he stops thinking on it. The lute suddenly explodes in his hands and the moogle lets out a screech of pain and holds his hands. The moogle is starting to cry but manages to edges out between sniffles, "Golmore, head to golmore."
Talen can only stare at the continuing change of events, and offers a shrug, before reaching out to pat the Moogle upon the back. A few words of magic has his hands glowing with a pale light, Talen reaching out to sooth his wounded hands. "Shhh, it's alright. We will get you a new lute, yes? And your hands can be made as good as new."
There is not much commentary from the ceiling department. Though the sudden lack of beatboxing was perhaps telling enough, as the arachnid peers at the wounded moogle from a crevice near the ceiling, keys poised out in an attack position.
Can any heart not melt at such a sight, once the intial shock of pyrotechnics has worn off? Apparently not Tristania's, as the dryad stands rigid as a-- no, wait, she visibly softens up as the moogle starts crying. She sighs softly, as she manouves herself forwards; she pulls the crude doll from her belt, and then produces an elegantly carved bone needle that she stabs into it. "Your wounds be soothed," she murmurs, casting the curative spell. "We shall see what can be done for your lute, as well." [Cure]
Edward stares at his hands as they start to heal and knit. He stays quiet the whole time and glances up to Talen still tears in his eyes, "Thank kupo. As for the lute, it was a cheap one. Worry not, it does not matter you know my secret now." He kupos again as Tristania's healing helps heal his hands fully. His voice quiet before glancing to Zhgir, "Another time sir, another time." Then he looks over to Tristania, "As for Rydia. I was traveling with a group out of the city of Bur-Omisace through the mountain passes. They had abandoned me due to my horrible singing and playing. So I was attempting to find my way back when I ran across her. She was walking along the path, bleeding and beaten from the fiends who inhabit the passes. I approached her and offered her one of my potions to help her out. Instead she grabbed me and pulled me right up to her face." He shivers at that, "It was like she was looking right into my soul. She said I was the one, and before I could react she slapped this bracelet onto my wrist. She said her name was Rydia, and that the charm would guide me on my path and other things." The moogle reaching up to rub the bracelet along his wrist, "She then turned around and said she was heading back home to Golmore Jungle, and to seek her out. Let me think here. Seek me out when you alone walk no more, surrounded by those who know the words of the Hungering Mask, but know not the meaning. They will know you for your truth, but know you not for you. I will be waiting, and tell my sister I am fine. I never did understand that last part. At least until now." Edward looking towards Tristania.
Talen peers from Edward to Zhgir, to Tristania and then back. He lets the Moogle tell his story, with a few more glances to Tristania to gauge her reaction. "It sounds awfully cliche, however, perhaps we are those whom she spoke of while peering into you?" The hair stands up on the back of Talen's neck. "Golmore. Golmore Jungle. We are walking in step to several prophesies at the same time. Will you lead us there then, Edward Songkupo, and see what lies in wait for us?"
Tristania leans back, and nods to the moogle. "We will make haste to Golmore, then," she declares, as though somehow she had just become captain of the ship. Which, of course, she hasn't. "I will be able to find Rydia." She glances at Zhgir and Talen, as well as the actual captain of the ship. "Be careful not to antagonize her. Dryads are wild, feral, and dangerous." She says that last part with a definite air of satisfaction. NOP
Edward peers up to Zhgir, and blinks over to the new corner, "umm leather… that is a terrible kupo for a lute." Still seeming depressed and glancing to his hands on occasion. He then looks over to Talen, "Fate and prophecy often are cliché, the world flows along unseen strings does it not?" Edward kupos and glances to Tristania, "She said this bracelet was the only way to find her, and Golmore is a very big jungle. Though she seemed very gentle and kind, with an air of sadness about her." Cecil stands up as he nods slowly, "Captain Kain, can you set course for the Gomore Jungle. We will reach it by nightful. The rest of you rest up, Edward will join you in this." Turning to head out, musing to himself, "How does a lute just explode like that?" The ship soon turning to a new course, the green of the jungle seen in the distance.
Talen stretches. "Rest well, Edward, and if you feel troubled, please be sure to tell someone. We are concerned for you, and will do everything we can to keep you safe, alright?"
Zhgir peeks from behind Talen. "Leather is just fine for a lute. It is firebreathing Vieras bard should be wary of. They are very lazy, and promiscuous." He nods to himself, starting to shuffle away from the room for the time being.
Tristania inclines her head, and her lips can be seen quirking upwards at the corners. "A wolf is kind to its pups, but it is a wolf nonetheless, and will steal eat you." Her teeth flash as she grins. "You must have endeared yoruself to her in some way you were not aware of, Edward. I will look after you in the jungles as best I can." She turns, to make her way out of the room. "If any of you wish to endear yourselves to a dryad," she adds, looking over her shoulder, "Wear a mask."
The rest of the ship ride is quiet, the sun sets and the night settles in. Cecil leads the way off the ship and glances around the jungle then steps quickly back onto the plank. "I am not supposed to be here. Something in the air, I can sense it." He reaches into his belt and hands Talen a flare gun, "We will be circling over head. Send up a flare when you need us to pick you up or support." Cecil spreads his wings and flies back up to the deck. Leaving the group on the jungle grounds of Golmore in middle of the night. Edward holds up his hand with the bracelet, which is now glowing a faint blue. "This way." The moogle pointing off in a direction, towards the darkness, where a thin layer of Mist can be seen shifting along the ground.
